Following a successful year in which he has taken a World silver medal and a British title, Tom Dixon won the Leicester Mercury Junior Sportsman of the year, beating Muhammed Ali and Deneao George to the award.

On a night that saw Ben Chilwell lift the Sportsman of the Year award, and Charnwood AC's own Amy Hunt miss out in her catergory of young sportswoman of the year, Tom got due recognition of a year where he has gone from strength to strength.
